Curriculum
Our curriculum is built upon the Montessori philosophy, supporting each child’s natural development through carefully prepared learning experiences. Children explore, discover, and grow at their own pace while building independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Areas of Learning in Montessori
Montessori education is built around five key areas of learning that work together to support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Through purposeful activities and specially designed Montessori materials, children gain knowledge, strengthen essential life skills, and develop confidence as independent learners.
Each area provides opportunities for exploration, concentration, and meaningful growth at every stage of development.
Practical Life
"Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed."
Practical Life activities help children develop independence, concentration, coordination, and responsibility through everyday tasks. By caring for themselves and their environment, children build confidence and learn valuable life skills that support future learning.
Sensorial
“Let the children be free; encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining…”
Sensorial activities refine children’s senses and help them understand the world through observation, comparison, and classification. By exploring qualities such as size, shape, color, texture, and sound, children strengthen their ability to think critically and make connections.
Mathematics
"The greatest sign of success for a teacher is to be able to say, ‘The children are now working as if I did not exist.’
Mathematics materials introduce abstract concepts through hands-on learning experiences. Children explore numbers, quantities, operations, and patterns in a concrete way, developing logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong mathematical foundation.
Language
“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment."
Language activities support the development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Through rich conversations, phonetic materials, and engaging learning experiences, children build communication skills and develop a lifelong appreciation for language.
Cultural Studies
"One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child."
Cultural Studies encourage children to explore the wider world and develop an understanding of people, nature, science, geography, history, and different cultures. These experiences foster curiosity, respect, and a deeper connection to the global community.
Visit Our Montessori School
We welcome families to visit our Montessori school and experience our classrooms firsthand. School tours provide an opportunity to observe daily learning, meet our teachers, and learn more about our programs and community in Tokyo.
Tours are available by appointment on weekdays, and families are encouraged to visit together with their child. For more information or to arrange a school tour, please contact us through the inquiry form below.
