After School Program

Our after school programs provide children with opportunities to continue learning beyond regular class hours. Through a variety of activities and study programs, we support each child’s independence, creativity, and confidence in a warm and engaging environment.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

At CASA ATLAS Montessori School, we believe that learning continues beyond regular class hours. Our after school programs provide a calm and engaging environment where children can continue to develop academically, socially, and creatively.

Through a variety of activities and study programs, children are encouraged to build confidence, strengthen independence, and discover new interests while enjoying meaningful experiences with their peers.

Abacus Class

Abacus lessons help children develop strong mathematical foundations, concentration, and confidence through hands on learning. As students progress, they learn to visualize numbers and may eventually develop mental arithmetic skills, including flash arithmetic (anzan). Classes are conducted in English, with Japanese support available when needed.

Instructor: Mr. Tom Sato

Born in New York, Mr. Sato grew up in a family deeply involved in soroban education and has extensive experience teaching abacus. He continues to promote soroban learning through competitions and educational activities.

Chinese Class

Children develop practical Chinese language skills through conversation, pronunciation, and age appropriate materials developed by Beijing Language and Culture University. Students also have opportunities to take the Youth Chinese Test (YCT) to assess their listening, reading, and writing skills. Classes are available for elementary and middle school students as well.

Instructor: Ms. Zhang Yan (Hiro Ikesue)

A graduate of Sophia University and Peking University, Ms. Ikesue has many years of experience as a Chinese language teacher and interpreter. She also enjoys sharing Chinese language and culture with children in her own family.

Japanese Language Class

Designed for children ages 3 to 9, this program supports both native English speakers learning Japanese and international school students who wish to maintain or strengthen their Japanese abilities. Children develop reading, writing, and speaking skills while exploring Japanese culture through stories, songs, traditional games, and karuta. Specialized support is also available for elementary school entrance preparation.

Instructor: Ms. Kumiko Saito (Deputy Principal)

Ms. Saito graduated from Nihon University College of Art and has been part of our school community since 2018. She supports children in developing language skills while fostering an appreciation for Japanese culture and traditions.

Dance and Yoga Classes

Through dance and yoga, children develop body awareness, coordination, rhythm, and self expression in a fun and supportive environment. Lessons include movement, freestyle activities, choreography, and yoga exercises that encourage concentration and confidence. Children also enjoy opportunities to share their learning through an annual performance.
